BUSINESS SERVICES
Division of labor between organizations is a major driver of growth and prosperity of individual firms as well as entire economies. From a service customer perspective, business services open up new strategic opportunities by increasing the flexibility of the firm, opening access to external resources and capabilities, and enhancing the potential of management to seize emerging business opportunities. From a service supplier perspective, business services provide profitable market opportunities. Thus it comes with little surprise that business services are a major driver of the growth of service economies. While the share of consumer services has remained relatively stable over time, firms have been continuously expanding their demand for services and are the major force in the transformation of our economies from manufacturing to services.
